Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian that has been in the business for a long time. Her birthplace was in Kildare Ireland on 16th March 1984. She was featured on QI together alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Claiodhnadh, or Aisling "Bea", is an Irish actor as well as a writer. Born on March 16th 1984. Bea started her stand-up career in 2011, after appearing in bits in several Irish television shows and British shows since the year 2009. She was already regularly appearing on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms. She began appearing regularly in panel shows following her win of an award at in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She was captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team between 2016 and 2017 and is an ongoing contestant on its spinoff, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The parents of her were Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. She has one younger sister, Sinead. In 2012 she was the first woman ever to win the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Bea was presented with the award to commemorate her father's passing. Aisling O'Sullivan, whose real name is as Cliodhnadh Aisling, was born at Kildare town in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian is an equine doctor who killed himself at the age of three. Bea didn't learn how her father died until after she reached the age of thirteen. Bea was her stage name. Bea was in tribute to her father. She published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017 on her journey of suicide. Bea was raised alongside her older sister Sinead by Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary instructor, trainer of jockeys, as well as a former professional racer. The family was obsessed with racing and horses. Bea had a job as an instructor in the Irish National Stud. From the age of a child, Bea knew that she didn't want racing as a career. Instead she loved the artistic arts.
